| BeXta - V.I.P. featuring Amii |
| News update -- for all those people who think BeXta is a hard dance artist... get with it! BeXta has been laying low recently and now we know where she's been, apart from running a record label, touring the country in clubs and on the Big Day Out and releasing the 10th installment of her Mixology dj mix series...... Australia's Queen of dance has been locked in the studio laying down a new sound!
V.I.P. is the result of a collaboration with a few people, the first being the vocalist Amii Jackson. Amii was featured on a 2007 Mixology Digital Release "Star Rider" by JvE. Recently Amii and BeXta have both moved to Melbourne, and met up to create the first of many collabs "V.I.P.". Then BeXta worked with ex Psuedo Echo front man Brian Canham to produce a single that has been described as Kylie meets the Potbellyz.
Amii is originally from Adelaide and is a confessed Madonna and Kylie addict, and this is where she gets her inspiration. She has mainly collaborated with more underground artists, and Amii feels this works well with her very pop sounding voice. BeXta and Amii have been in the studio co-writing and VIP is no doubt a sure sign of things to come.
The single has 6 mixes -- the radio mix is a pop dance mix with hints of electro, without sounding cheesy or sugary. The club versions are definitely made for the clubs, and are club trance with an 80's influence. BeXta's SoundGarden mix was made especially for BeXta's opening track at the Big Day Out this year... repeating the lyric "let me introduce myself don't you know who I am". This mix is a bit more like the old BeXta but the only way to describe it would be that now, she's "all grown up". There's maturity in her productions, you can hear her experience and history, but being the absolute sound of now, at the same time.
Mixology Digital label mate Patrik Carrera has put his stamp on his ReRub mix, more chilled than his other tech trance productions, this mix could even go down well on a Sunday morning sunrise.
There's a video clip to accompany the track, produced and directed by Simon Day, who has done a fantastic Pump up the Jam meets an iPod add treatment to the radio edit. Previews are now on BeXta's myspace page. For more info contact us below.
